What's Open, Closed In Prince George's County On Martin Luther King Jr. Day

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD β€” On Monday, residents and organizations in Prince George's County will take a moment to honor the life and legacy of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. The federally-observed day of service will impact services in the area.

Post offices will be closed Monday as will the county animal services facility, the electronics recycling acceptance site and the household hazardous waste acceptance site. Bulky trash and curbside recycling will not be picked up in county-contracted areas unless an appointment has been scheduled. Collections will resume Tuesday. However, organics collections will be picked up.

The Brown Station Road sanitary landfill and drop-off center will be open, as will the Missouri Avenue solid waste acceptance and recycling drop-off center, the Prince George's County materials recycling facility and the county organics composting facility.

TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince George’s County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will operate a regular COVID-19 schedule Monday except for the route 51 service to the equestrian center/courthouse. Regular COVID-19 operations of route 51 will resume Tuesday.

The county’s Call-A-Bus service, including the PGC link and orange circulator, will not operate Monday. Regular COVID-19 operations of the Call-A-Bus services will resume Tuesday.

PGC311 will be closed Monday and resume regular operations Tuesday. Residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/.

All city of Bowie offices, city of College Park facilities, city of Hyattsville offices and city of Laurel offices will be closed.
