What's Open, Closed For Veterans Day 2021 In Prince George's County
Veterans Day will result in some closures Thursday in Prince George's County, along with a delay in trash pickup.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD β Before the holiday season gets started with Thanksgiving later this month, Veterans Day will be observed as a federal holiday on Thursday, Nov. 11. The holiday celebrates all those who have served in the U.S. armed forces.
Below are the openings and closures to know for Veterans Day on Thursday, Nov. 11:
- Closed - All county government offices except for those pertaining to public safety.
- Closed - Animal Services Facility (3750 Brown Station Road)
- Open - Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill
- Open - Brown Station Road Public Convenience Center
- Open - Electronics Recycling Acceptance Site (Located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)
- Closed - Household Hazardous Waste Acceptance Site (located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)
- Closed - Recycling Acceptance Site (located at the Brown Station Road Sanitary Landfill)
- Closed - Missouri Avenue Solid Waste Acceptance and Recycling Center
- Open - Prince Georgeβs County Materials Recycling Facility (1000 Ritchie Road)
- Open - Prince Georgeβs County Organics Composting Facility
- Open - bulky trash collection (by appointment only)
- No collections - scheduled collections resume Nov. 12
- TheBus, a public transit service operated by the Prince Georgeβs County Department of Public Works and Transportation, will operate on existing COVID-operated routes Thursday except for Route 51X, which serves county government buildings in Upper Marlboro. Regular service on Route 51X will resume Friday.
- Call-A-Bus, Orange Circulator and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate Thursday. Regular COVID-19 operations of the Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services will resume Friday.
- The Prince George's County Department of Permitting, Inspections and Enforcement will be closed Thursday. Regular business hours will resume Friday.
- PGC311 will be closed Thursday and will return to regular operations Friday. Residents can submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com/ at any time.
- Laurel city offices will be closed Nov. 11.
- Thursday trash and recycling in Laurel will be picked up on Friday.
- Thursday leaf vacuuming in Laurel will take place Friday.
- There will be no bulky item pickup or yard debris pickups in Laurel this week.
