Wife Indicted for Running Over, Killing Husband: Court

A Lanham woman is charged with first-degree murder for reportedly running down her husband after an argument.

A Lanham woman who reportedly admitted to police that she ran over her husband with an SUV following a domestic dispute has been indicted for his murder, authorities say.

Prince George’s County Police charged Araceli Alvarez-Mendoza, 37, of the 9400 block of Worrell Avenue with murder in the Aug. 23 attack. After an argument, Fernando Fragoso-Duana left the couple’s home on foot, and Alvarez-Mendoza allegedly followed him in the SUV.

Prosecutors say she intentionally struck her husband with the vehicle. The victim was pinned under the SUV, police say, and pronounced dead at the scene.
