The Pumas from Upper Marlboro are three years removed from their first title in three appearances in the finals under Coach Parrish. In an interesting twist, Coach Parrish played defensive back at Howard before earning an athletic scholarship to Wake Forest.
Wise has thrived in tight games and been capable of running up the score. The team is known for gritty defense and displaying more explosive offense than in years past. In the end, the Pumas proved to be better than Howard’s defense with a shutdown performance from the team.
