Woman Admits to Setting Fire, Charged in Arson: Police
A Lanham woman allegedly told Prince George's County police and fire investigators that she set a fire with three people inside the house.

A Lanham woman has been arrested on an arson warrant for allegedly setting fire to a mattress in a home occupied by three others people and leaving the scene.
According to a news release from the Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/ Fugitive Division, officers on Thursday reported the arrest of Juanel Huff for first-degree arson.

The warrant says early on Nov. 5, Huff set fire to her mattress inside a house in the 8500 block of Fulton Avenue in Glenarden. The three occupants in the house were alerted to the fire by a smoke detector.
Authorities say the fire caused an estimated $8,000 damage to the residence.

Huff reportedly went to the Prince George’s County Police District IV station on Dec. 10 and told the clerk that she had caused the fire, according to the warrant information. Fire marshal investigators interviewed Huff, and then sought the arrest warrant.
Deputies took Huff into custody without incident near the house. She was taken to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Huff is also charged with second-degree arson, first-degree malicious burning, and malicious destruction of property.
