Woman Dies 8 Days After Being Shot During Argument, Suspect Charged

A woman has died eight days after she was shot during an argument. A suspect has been arrested and charged in the case, police say.

LANDOVER, MD — A White Plains man has been charged in connection to a fatal shooting that happened earlier this month in Landover.

On Jan. 8 around 11:35 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 3100 block of 75th Avenue for a report of a shooting. They found 60-year-old Constance Miller of no fixed address outside with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died eight days later, according to the police department.

The preliminary investigation indicates that 43-year-old John Michael Brand shot the victim during an argument. Brand and Miller knew each other, police say.
