Woman Dies After Crashing Vehicle Into Front Porch Of Suitland Home

SUITLAND, MD — An 81-year-old woman has died after she crashed her vehicle into the front porch of a home on Towne Park Road, authorities said.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, the incident happened Friday around 1:30 p.m. in the area of Brooks Drive and Towne Park Road.

Police officers found 81-year-old Devereaux Shelton of District Heights at the scene of the crash. She was taken to a hospital, where she died a short time later, according to police.

A preliminary investigation showed that Shelton hit the front porch of a property on Towne Park Road. No one was in the home at the time of the crash.

The cause of the crash is being investigated, according to the police department.
