Woman Killed in U.S. 50 Crash; Driver Impaired by Narcotics

A GMC Yukon went airborne before colliding head-on with a Cadillac; the crash on U.S. 50 in Prince George's County killed one person.

LANHAM, MD — One person was killed in a three-car crash Thursday night that authorities say was the fault of a driver impaired by narcotics.

The fatal collision happened just before 11 p.m. on U.S. 50 in Prince George's County, say Maryland State Police. Authorities have not yet released the names of the driver who was killed, or the others involved in the accident.

Investigators say a GMC Yukon was eastbound on US-50 when it went off the roadway, struck the center median guardrail, became airborne and landed in a lane of eastbound US-50. A westbound Cadillac SRX-4 collided head-on with the Yukon, then came to a stop in a lane of westbound US-50. A third vehicle, a Chevrolet Aveo, was westbound on US-50 and struck the Cadillac broad-side.
