Worker Rescued After 24-Foot Fall
A man working at a water treatment plant in Prince George's County was flown to an area hospital after he was rescued from the pit.

A worker who fell 24 feet at a Prince George’s County water treatment plant was seriously injured, authorities said.
The accident happened Tuesday morning at the Piscataway Waste Water Treatment Plant on Farmington Road in Accokeek.
A Prince George’s County Fire Department ladder truck, combined with a system of ropes and pulleys, was used to hoist the injured patient in a stokes basket out of the pit.

Fire Department spokesman Mark Brady said on Twitter that a Maryland State Police helicopter waited at the Accokeek Fire Station to fly the man to an area hospital.
