Sudo suffered from a rare cancer known as a Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid tumor. After treatment, Sudo was cancer free for two years, but it returned in 2011. Sudoβs is the first record case in medical history where ATRT cancer returned after subsiding.
The 5K will honor his memory with donations going toward the Joey Sudo fund, which will benefit the Sudo family. The entry fee for preregistration is $40 per family, or $20 per individual runner or walker. On the day of the run, the cost for families will be $50 and individuals will be $25.
