AACC Astromony Club to Host Fall Open House
Spend a night under the stars at Anne Arundel Community College on Oct. 22.
Interested in unlocking the mysteries of the universe? If so, a NASA expert will give a presentation about new equipment that could provide some answers during the Astronomy Club's open house on Saturday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. at (AACC). In addition, the event will provide opportunities for networking and stargazing.
Mark Sistilli, a member of AACCβs astronomy faculty and a NASA expert, will speak about βUnlocking the Mysteries of the High-Energy Particle Universeβ to discuss the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer (AMS) that was installed on the International Space Station in May 2011, according to a release from AACC.
The open house will begin in room 110 of the Dragun Science Building with a presentation followed by refreshments. If weather permits, attendees can walk across campus to the Astronomy Lab for free community stargazing using provided equipment (or bring your own telescopes).
