AACC Athletes Make National All-Academic Team
Three teams at Anne Arundel Community College made the National Junior College Athletic Association's (NJCAA) All-Academic team, for the fourth year in a row.

The 2011-2012 NJCAA All-Academic Teams have been announced and for the fourth consecutive year three AACC womenβs teams have earned this prestigious honor.Β The three teams, all coached by Jim Griffiths, are womenβs lacrosse, women's cross country and womenβs soccer.
Womenβs lacrosse has been named a team of the year and is the top and only lacrosse team in the country to meet the required team GPA of 3.0. This yearβs womenβs lacrosse team earned well above the requirement with a 3.41 team GPA.

With a 3.52 team GPA the womenβs cross country team just missed being a team of the year by .08 coming in behind Gadsden State CC in Alabama.
Womenβs soccer landed at ninth in the nation with a final team GPA of 3.32.

Not only did each of these teams excel in the classroom but they all had very successful seasons. Lacrosse won the region 20 tournament advancing to the national tournament, cross country finished as runner up at the MD JUCO and region 20 tournaments, and soccer finished as region 20 runner up.
