AACC Named Among Best College Workplaces

The community college celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

was named for the third consecutive year as one of the best colleges in the country to work for, according to a new survey by The Chronicle of Higher Education.

The community college, with locations in Arnold, Glen Burnie and Hanover, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year.

The college was named along in a Chronicle survey among more than 46,000 employees at 294 colleges and universities across the country. The designation of Great College to Work For was bestowed upon 103 of the four-year schools and only 24 of the 73 two-year schools.

AACC won honors in four categories:

  • Collaborative governance
  • Teaching environment
  • Respect and appreciation
  • Diversity

β€œAnne Arundel Community College has long enjoyed a national reputation for being a stellar community college that provides innovative programs and is responsive to the needs of the community,” Lindsay said. β€œThis is a great honor, one we have earned because of the dedicated and talented staff and faculty at AACC who continually work toward excellence in everything they do.”

The survey's results are based on an institutional audit that measured demographics and workplace policies from each institution, and a survey of faculty, administrators and professional support staff.

The feedback from employees was the primary factor in the assessment, according to a release.
