Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. Arnold, MD (July , 2015) Girls 12 and under interested in playing competitive travel softball in the Arnold, Cape St. Claire and Annapolis areas are invited to try out for the Broadneck Lady Bruins 12U Select team on Saturday, August 8 at 11 am and Wednesday, August 12 at 6 pm at Arnold Park, field one.  The Lady Bruins are affiliated with the Broadneck Baseball Softball Club.  They'll practice and play tournaments throughout the year with the goal of developing skills, winning games, improving fitness and having fun.  For girls who cannot make both tryouts in August, special arrangements will be considered.  For more information contact head coach Jack Mozloom, <a href="mailto:jackmozloom@Comcast.net" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">jackmozloom@Comcast.net</a>.
