Arnold Homebuilder Awarded by Chamber for Green Homes

The ceremony was held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel on Thursday evening.

Baldwin Homes of Arnold was given the Green Business Award by the Annapolis and Anne Arundel County Chamber of Commerce at this week's awards dinner.Β 

President of Baldwin Homes Mike Baldwin was awarded by chamber officials for his company's consistency in creating homes with energy-efficient features. The ceremony was held at the Loews Annapolis Hotel on Thursday evening.

Baldwin recently completed work on the 'ultra-green'Β Maryland Green Designer Show Home in Gambrills, which features more than 60 design elements with energy efficiency ideas. The showpiece house wasΒ built as a way of promoting green home building, Baldwin said.

"Everyone talks about building green, but very few people understand what it means," said Baldwin. "Our objective was to show people what green building was all about, to educate the general public while benefiting the charities."

The Capital Gazette reported that former Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) president Martha Smith and AACC Board of Trustees member Jerry Klasmeier were given lifetime achievement awards at the chamber dinner.
