Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Its mission is to create opportunities that allow individuals to enjoy life, explore nature, and restore their health and well-being. Broadneck parent Jennie Jacobs let Patch know about this good deed done over the weekend by local students. On Sunday, members of the boys lacrosse junior varsity and varsity teams collected and delivered several cases of water and juice to  to support their spring gardening event and bolster their pantry for future member meetings.  Peter Jacobs, captain of the JV team, organized this event with the help and support of his teammates and coaches.   "This was such a beautiful example of different members of our great community coming together to help each other out," said Kelly Sullivan, founder and president of the Wellness House of Annapolis. "We are grateful to the community volunteers for their support, efforts, and ongoing commitment to the well-being of those who have been touched by cancer."
