Cape St. Claire Strawberry Festival

You know it's close to the end of school when the Strawberry Festival occurs at the Cape Main Beach. Here are a few shots from the parade Saturday morning and the festival a short time thereafter. 

This is precisely the type of photography I need to work on. I am not used to candid shooting or capturing the events as they are taking place. I have a lot to work on. I usually work in manual mode because I normally have all the time in the world to set up the camera for the shot. Clearly I should have switched off to Tv or Av mode, as many of my shots were poor because the camera wasn't set correctly. This is why I am an amateur, folks!

I enjoyed spending some time at the Patch tent talking blogging and life on the peninsula with Laura Tayman, our Broadneck Patch editor. I was encouraged to hear the reports from several visitors who said they were regular readers.  Who knew people actually read what I write here? Thanks!
