Cherry Blossoms by the Nation's Capital
A hop and a skip away from Broadneck, the Cherry Blossoms at the Nation's Capital.
Have you ever been to DC to see the enchanting Cherry Blossoms around the tidal basin? I wouldn’t be surprised if most people in the area, says no even if it is a hop and a skip away from Broadneck. It’s easy to play ‘the tourists’ within our 40-mile radius. The biggest trick is making time to do so.
To enjoy the blossoms leisurely without the elbow-to-elbow crowd means having to go during weekdays. Planets have to align themselves for us to have the trip, that’s why I do cherish the times under the lovely canopy of blossoms. Although my family and I haven’t been able to go this year, I have collection of photos from our trips in the past years. I heard that this weekend's rain washed out most of the blossoms but it's good to plan for next year.

- Parking in DC is quite a challenge; we usually drive to the Metro. Riding the Metro is a field trip by itself.
- Prepare for a long walk. Wear comfortable walking shoes. I know it’s common sense but there are ladies in sky-high heels.
- Bring water supply, granola bars and whatever you want to eat for a picnic that you can carry around in a backpack.
- Remember to charge your camera batteries.
Have a blossom inspired week everyone!
