Day Trip to St. Michael's

Way back in June, I managed to sneak away for a day trip to St. Michael's in MD to celebrate my birthday. Here is a collection of photographs from the trip.

Wow, it's been a busy two weeks since returning from vacation.  In fact, I think I need another vacation already. My apologies for the radio silence in posting lately.

Way back in June, I managed to sneak away for a day trip to St. Michael's in MD to celebrate my birthday. Both kids were away visiting grandparents, and my wife was in the midst of a project at work, so I was on my own for the day.

St. Michael's holds some childhood memories for me. My parents owned a boat for several years in the late '70's. We kept the boat on the Magothy and would make the cruise across the bay, through Kent Narrows, and down the eastern bay at least once a summer. Usually we stayed for a long weekend, but several times we actually spent our family vacation docked in St. Michael's.

I wasn't really looking to re-create any of those memories when I planned my birthday trip to St. Michael's. I was looking for some place within an hour's drive which had interesting opportunities for photography.

Here is a collection of photographs from the trip. If you are looking for a fun place to spend a day, or a vacation close to home, give St. Michael's a shot.
