Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. The <a href="http://www.aahealth.org/" rel="noopener nofollow" target="_blank">Anne Arundel County Department of Health</a> regularly screens students for vision and hearing in area preschools, day care programs, elementary and middle schools, and students who are new to the county. According to a release from the department, children are screened to detect problems that may cause issues in school and parents will be informed of any potential deficiency detected by letter. Screenings of students will take place at the following locations in November: Nov. 18— Nov. 29 and 30— For more information, call Kim Roussey, vision and hearing technician supervisor, at 410-222-6838.
