Centrowitz, an Arnold native and 2007 BHS graduate, won three state cross-country titles while at high school. and would be forgoing his senior season at the University of Oregon.Β

Last year he wonΒ the 1,500-meter event at the NCAA Championships and the USA Track & Field title and became theΒ youngest American ever to win a medal in the 1,500-meter event when he finished third at the IAAF World Track and Field ChampionshipsΒ in South Korea, according toΒ The Baltimore Sun.
CentrowitzΒ andΒ hopes to qualify for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
