Jing Ying Owner Named Women in Business Champion

Nancy Greer, an Arnold entrepreneur, was recently named the Maryland Women in Business Champion of the Year.Β Greer will be among those honored at the 28th annual Maryland Small Business Week Awards on Friday.Β
Greer owns theΒ Β located in Arnold. She's been a local business leader for years.
"I am honored and humbled to have been selected for this award. As a small-business owner, who is also a woman, I appreciate the hard work and determination it takes to be successful," wrote Greer in an email to Patch.

Greer said that women in business can sometimes face unique challenges.Β Β
βI enjoy championing them in any way that I can. Women in business are vital to the community and whatever help I can give benefits us all,β she said. "I am fortunate to be part of a great community and hope that I have contributed to it in some small way.β

The Small Business Administration holds an annual awards competition to recognize outstanding small business owners and advocates. Nominees compete within their own districts. Winners advance to the regional competition and then finally compete at the national level.
Greer was nominated by the Greater Severna Park Chamber of Commerce. She will join 10 other small-business owners and supporting champions who will be recognized at the awards ceremony Friday by hundreds of entrepreneurs,Β lenders and government officials, including Gov. Martin OβMalley, Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD) and Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-MD).
