Severn River Middle School Students Walk for $4,200 in Donations

Three seventh-graders were recognized for their performance in the charity walkathon.

A host of seventh-graders participated in a walkathon in October that netted $4,200 in donations towards Serving People Across Neighborhoods (SPAN).

Three students were among the top earners for the walkathon, which generated funds from friends and family members in the area.

Sami Ludlum, Melat Phillips and Nick Obsitnik walked further and raised more than other students. They were chosen by SPAN to stand before the student body and hand off the oversized check to SPAN representatives on Wednesday at the middle school.
