Photo Gallery: Broadneck High Dancers Perform in Annapolis

Local members of the Chesapeake Ballet Company dance for the crowds at City Dock during the tree lighting ceremony Sunday night.

Members of the Chesapeake Ballet Company, including some from the Broadneck peninsula, performed dances from The Nutcracker at City Dock in downtown Annapolis on Sunday, Nov. 27, as part of the tree lighting ceremony. 

students included Kayla Hollon as an Arabian princess and Victoria Sames as the Sugar Plum Fairy. Lizzy Tumelty, a freshman at Broadneck High, danced the part of Clara during the performance on Sunday.

The event, hosted by the Annapolis Jaycees, also included performances from the St. Mary’s Noel Choir and The Talent Machine.

WNAV’s Wiley Baker emceed the event and special guests Mr. and Mrs. Claus arrived in a horse-drawn carriage to greet the children. City of Annapolis Mayor Josh Cohen led the countdown for the official lighting of the tree, which is a blue spruce.

The Chesapeake Ballet Company will perform The Nutcracker at the on Dec. 10, 11, 17 and 18. Tickets can be purchased online.
