Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Familiar faces filled Friday's 15th anniversary celebration at in Arnold.  Children who were born at the birth center 15 years ago came back, all grown up, to visit with the midwives who "helped them out," as one child's shirt declared.  The celebration also highlighted the birth of . Benjamin Linker, the son of Kaely and Christopher Linker, was there along with dozens of other babies and children. At the end of the festivities, all the families present gathered and smiled as moms and dads attempted to wrangle all the kids together for a group photo.
