PHOTOS: Gallery at AACC Focuses on Healing Arts

A gallery of paintings on campus features work from artists recovering from mental illnesses.

A tour of the newΒ exhibit atΒ , gives a window into the minds of artists who are using their talents to heal old wounds.

The exhibit, titled β€œThrough the Rabbit Hole, Visionary Healing Art,” is open until June 28 at the college's Pascal Center for Performing Arts Gallery.

Sponsored byΒ Arundel Lodge Inc., the exhibit showcases watercolor and acrylic paintings, weavings, mixed media pieces and visual journals created by Anne Arundel County residents participating in the organization’s art program, according to a release.

The art program was created to form a safe, supportive community of artists, where people can explore, express, and recover through classroom, studio and gallery programs in the visual arts,Β according to a release. Β
