Readers' Choice: Mother's Day Brunch at Severn Inn

Brunch is the traditional meal for Mother's Day, a special day set aside for one of the most important women in our lives.

Selecting the right venue for the occasion is half the work. Our readers made that search a little easier by choosing one of the classiest restaurants in town—one well-known for its brunch specialties.

Located right along the Severn River, the restaurant is nestled next to the U.S. Naval Academy Bridge, affording it a picturesque view of the academy's campus.

General manager Jami Curtis said Mother's Day brunch was booked up more than a month in advance. Hundreds will be dining at the inn on Sunday, both inside and outside.

"I couldn't agree more that it is one of the nicest brunches in the area that I'm familiar with," Curtis said. "It's great fun, and there's lots to eat and lots of variety."

The buffet brunch will have three seatings at 10 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. The cost for adults is $29.95 and $18 for children (age 5 to 12) and complimentary for children younger than 5. 

Dinner service begins at 5 p.m. and deck seating is first come, first serve. The National Weather Service predicts partly sunny skies on Sunday with a high of 77 degrees, making for splendid brunch conditions.

The inn will feature the same specials for Father's Day, which is on June 17. Interested diners are advised to make reservations well in advance, Curtis said.
