Anne Arundel County Recreation and Parks serves millions of residents and visitors annually through a wide variety of services and programs. Its primary focus is to provide comprehensive recreational programs for residents and safeguard valuable land through the maintenance and management of over 160 parks and natural areas. The department manages specialized recreational facilities, including two swim centers, two golf courses, three ice rinks, a baseball stadium, a softball complex, and programs tailored to diverse needs ranging from school-age childcare to adaptive recreation. It also cares for thousands of acres of land, encompassing community parks, greenways, archaeological sites, environmental and historical preserves, and large regional parks spanning several hundred acres. Broadneck Patch readers chose over the competition in  this week. Dawn Lawson, the deli manager at the market, thanked her customers for their support. "We have some great customers here," Lawson said. Lawson attributed Fishpaws' success this week to their quality ingredients, which make amazing sandwiches. "We've changed a lot of our products to be made in-house, rather than processed," Lawson said. "Basically it's been about maintaining a higher standard, and choosing the higher-quality products that are available." The San Francisco Sandwich has been the most popular in town, she said. It's on sourdough bread, with house-roasted turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and mayonnaise. "That one sandwich sells way more than anything else on our menu," she said.
