State Gives County Schools $33M for Construction
Broadneck High is set to receive $2 million for construction projects at the school.

Anne Arundel County will be getting $33.3 million from the state this year for construction projects at more than 20 schools, including $2 million for .
The funding comes from the stateβs Board of Public Works, which approved construction improvements at 206 schools across the state to the tune of $349.2 million, according to David Lever of the Maryland Public School Construction Program.
The Maryland Board of Public Works had already allotted $20 million for county schools, but on Wednesday agreed to an additional $12.6 million.

Of Anne Arundel County's 125 schools, 23 will receive funding this year from the state. A number of other projects are getting local funding, with the state reviewing the plans, said schools Chief Operating Officer Alex Szachnowicz.
Included on the list of schools are , which will receive $1.33 million in renovations for science labs and $706,000 for open-space classroom conversion.

The county school projects on the approved funding list are:

The Board of Public Workβs determination of schools that would receive funding was based on recommendations from the Interagency Committee on School Construction, Lever wrote in a letter to the Anne Arundel County school system.
