ChristmasΒ decorations were up in some stores before Halloween, and each year it seems that retailers go after Christmas shoppers harder and earlier.

Last year was the first time that many retailers began Black Friday on Thanksgiving Day itself, and this year, with the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas a full week shorter, more stores have announced theyΒ will be open on Turkey Day.

That means some workersΒ will miss family time to ring up the masses at the registers and restock shelves.

A campaign has begun against what some are calling aΒ war on Thanksgiving by asking people to take aΒ "No Shopping on Thanksgiving Day Pledge."Β There's even aΒ Facebook pageΒ with more than 1,000 'likes.'
