Gingerbread Pirates Hit the Shores of Broadneck
The Children's Theatre of Annapolis presents its annual holiday show for one day only on Nov. 26.
Each year after Thanksgiving, the Children’s Theatre of Annapolis (CTA) presents a family-oriented Christmas production. Attending the shows is a family tradition for many Broadneck families to kick off the holiday season.
Tiffany Shannon Productions will present , an adaptation of the children’s book of the same name by author Krisin Kladstrup, on Nov. 26. The show will only run for one day due to the theater’s booked schedule of productions.
“We had done for the last three years and we wanted to do something different this year,” said Tiffany Shannon, who has been working with CTA since 2003.

The story revolves around the head gingerbread cookie, Captain Cookie, and his crew of gingerbread pirates as they decide if Santa Claus is a friend or an enemy sent to eat them.
Young audiences will be delighted with the colorful cast and encouraged participation as they sing traditional Christmas carols and have an opportunity to meet Santa after the show.

Cast members include Tiffany Shannon, Steve Mangum, Katy Stratchko, Josh Hansen, Greg Anderson and Sam Kobren—many of whom play multiple parts. They will entertain with silly antics that are will make children laugh and smile.
Parents, don’t forget to bring your cameras to takes pictures of your little ones meeting Santa after the show.
There will be two shows on Saturday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Ticket prices are $8 for adults, $5 for children (ages 2 to 12) and children younger than age 2 are free. To purchase tickets, email boxoffice@childrenstheatreofannapolis.org, order online or call 410-757-2281.
