100-Piece "Vintage" Wooden Toy Exhibit December 11 at Charlestown

Toys Made by Resident Woodworkers will be Donated to Toys for Tots

A Thursday, December 11 (9 a.m. – 1 p.m.), holiday exhibit of 100 “vintage” wooden toys will be held at Charlestown retirement community. The toys will include several pull toys of trains, fish that wiggle when pulled, simple wood puzzles, piggy banks, shape fit toys, stack block type toys, wood road graders, old time cars and pick-ups, and cradles with hand sewn dolls.

The toys were made by Charlestown’s resident woodworkers. This exhibit is free and open to the public.

Immediately following this exhibit at 1 p.m., the toys will be given to underprivileged children via the U.S. Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots.

The Charlestown woodworkers have been making the toys ever since this past April.
