3 Arrested For Stealing $14K In Jewelry In Baltimore County: Police

Three people are accused of a scam targeting multiple people at locations throughout Baltimore County, police said.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Three people are facing charges after police said they stole more than $14,000 in jewelry from multiple victims in Baltimore County.

According to Baltimore County police, the thefts occurred in the Catonsville area and began in January.

Police said the suspects attempted to engage the victims and encourage them to come closer to or lean inside their vehicle by asking for directions or offering them a blessing .

Once the victims were within reach, one of the suspects forcibly removed the victims' necklaces before fleeing the scene.

According to police, the incident occurred on the following dates:

  1. Jan. 6 – 5500 block of Baltimore National Pike – Armed Robbery
  2. Feb. 9 – 6500 block of Baltimore National Pike – Robbery
  3. Feb. 15 – 6500 block of Baltimore National Pike –Theft
  4. March 14 – 6500 block of Baltimore National Pike –Theft
  5. March 17 – 6600 block of Baltimore National Pike – Theft
  6. April 7 – 6500 block of Baltimore National Pike – Theft
  7. April 9 – 900 block of Frederick Road – Robbery

The three suspects were arrested and charged were 20-year-old Mihail Alexandru, 26-year-old Versalona Nicu and 23-year-old Mihaela Alexandru.

The trio was taken to the Baltimore County Detention Center, where they are being held without bail.
