Father's Gay Nineties was a popular themed restaurant and ice cream parlor on Frederick Road in Catonsville, Maryland.

Active during the 1970s and 1980s, it was famous for giant ice cream sundaes, casual food like pizza, birthday treats, and a legendary promotion featuring an entire canoe or rowboat filled with ice cream.

Its old-fashioned, nostalgic atmosphere served as a staple hangout for local teenagers, families, and UMBC students.

It was known for massive specialty portions like banana boats and giant birthday sundaes.

The beloved local landmark eventually closed following a fire.
