West Virginia Woman Accused Of Attempted Murder In Woodlawn Motel Shooting

WOODLAWN, MD — A 21-year-old woman from West Virginia is facing multiple charges in connection with a Tuesday shooting that occurred at a Woodlawn motel.

Court records show Hayden Hill, of Worthington, West Virginia, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, as well as first- and second-degree assault, among four other gun-related charges.

Baltimore County Police said the shooting was tied to a domestic dispute that saw officers called shortly after 7:30 a.m. to a motel in the 6700 block of Security Boulevard.

At the motel, police found a 23-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound. She was later taken to a hospital.

Authorities did not provide further details on the extent of the injuries but said there was no further threat to the community.

Charging documents reviewed by WBAL indicate the domestic dispute began over infidelity that occurred inside the motel room the pair were staying in. The shooting, however, took place outside after the unidentified woman was said to have assaulted Hill.

The outlet reported that Hill was caught on camera admitting to firing the gun and that she was apprehended by police in Baltimore City.

Hill remains held without bond at the Baltimore County Detention Center. A preliminary court hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30.
