Anderson and Otto are Charlestown's Leadership Award Recipients
They Best Represent the Erickson Living Experience Values in Action

Sharon Anderson, Night Shift Supervisor in Continuing Care, has been named the 2014 recipient of Charlestown retirement community’s “Erickson Leadership” Award. Mark Otto, a Wheelchair Escort in the Home Support Department, has been named the recipient of Charlestown’s “Best of the Best” Award.
Anderson is extremely dependable and flexible to accommodate operational needs and approaches all problems with her excellent critical thinking skills. She can handle any emergency from a clinical issue with a resident, to an employee illness or injury, or even a flood or power outage . She is an excellent communicator who shares information with those who need to know.
During snow emergencies, she is the first to arrive and frequently the last to leave and has also been seen shoveling out her co-workers cars so they would not have to do it after working long hours. Sharon is a problem solver. She will not only identify a problem but will identify solutions, develop a process, teach the staff the process and implement it.

Otto is respected and appreciated by his department members as well as staff from around the entire community. He consistently delivers dependable, positive and high energy service to our residents. He is the smiling face of Home Support. His energetic and friendly ways shine through no matter where or when you see him. There is no better example than Mark of the Erickson Living Experience Values in action. In addition to his daily responsibilities, he regularly and cheerfully looks for ways to assist in whatever needs to be done.
Each year Charlestown selects two employees who best represent the Erickson Living Experience Values in action. All employees are eligible for this recognition and can be nominated by anyone in the community, including co-workers, managers and residents. “It is heartwarming to review all of the nominees and to see the great work – and demonstrations of Charlestown’s mission and the Erickson Living Values – that occur in our community all throughout the year,” said Executive Director Clara Parker.
