Here are the top stories today in and around Catonsville:

1. The Catonsville area has experienced explosive home price growth this past year and prices are still moving upward. Prices increased 1.3 percent from June to July in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, according to the latest data from the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index. Prices in the bottom third of the local market — homes priced under $317,000, often designated as starter homes — increased 16.5 percent year over year. (Catonsville Patch)
2. Baltimore County is hosting numerous COVID-19 vaccination clinics throughout the county this weekend and in the week ahead, including some mobile outreach locations and locations with walk-in appointments. Residents who are medically homebound and unable to travel to a vaccine clinic can email the department of health at COVIDVax@baltimorecountymd.gov or call the county's COVID hotline at 410-887-3816 to schedule a vaccine.
