Here are the top stories today in and around Catonsville:

  1. The Catonsville area has experienced explosive home price growth this past year and prices are still moving upward. Prices increased 1.3 percent from June to July in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, according to the latest data from the S&P CoreLogic Case-Shiller Index. Prices in the bottom third of the local market — homes priced under $317,000, often designated as starter homes — increased 16.5 percent year over year. (Catonsville Patch)
  2. Baltimore County is hosting numerous COVID-19 vaccination clinics throughout the county this weekend and in the week ahead, including some mobile outreach locations and locations with walk-in appointments. Residents who are medically homebound and unable to travel to a vaccine clinic can email the department of health at COVIDVax@baltimorecountymd.gov or call the county's COVID hotline at 410-887-3816 to schedule a vaccine.   3. Baltimore Police are asking for the public's help finding Taylor Williams, a 15-year-old Baltimore resident who was last seen wearing a school uniform on Thursday in the unit block of Melville Avenue. (CBS Baltimore)
  4. The 20th Baltimore Running Festival is happening today, which means multiple road closures and parking restrictions in some local areas throughout the day. To minimize delays, officials are encouraging residents to keep outside of the race footprint. (CBS Baltimore)
