- As the omicron COVID-19 variant spikes across Baltimore County, County Executive Johnny Olszewski has declared a local state of emergency. As part of this declaration, Baltimore County has implemented a mask mandate beginning 9 a.m. tomorrow (Dec. 29) through Jan. 31, 2022, for all residents age 5 and up in all public indoor spaces throughout the County. Olszewski also announced plans to procure 100,000 rapid at-home test kits using American Rescue Plan funding and expand large-scale testing for Baltimore County residents. (Press Release Desk)
- Catonsville High School senior Ashley Dickey has been highlighted as the Baltimore Sun's student-athlete of the week. Dickey, a point guard on the girls' varsity basketball team, has been the driving force in the Comets' 5-1 start, including the team's recent stretch of three wins in four days, says the Sun.
