Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:
- The Baltimore County Council proposed two Comprehensive Zoning Map Process changes to allow for more transparency and community input. To increase transparency, the first change would require an Information Report from the Planning Department that would be made available to the public upon request. To increase community input, the second change would shift the timeline for zoning approval. The Planning Department would provide its recommendations to the Planning Board after the public hearings, instead of before. The new bills will be discussed on Dec. 13 at the County Council Work Session. The final reading and vote will occur on Dec. 19 at the Legislative Session. (Perry Hall Patch)
- The Community College of Baltimore County (CCBC) Dundalk Gender & Sexuality Acceptance (GSA) Club and the Student Programming Board are accepting cold weather clothing donations now through Dec. 9 on behalf of Baltimore Haven. Donations can be dropped off at the Student Life Offices at CCBC Catonsville, CCBC Dundalk, and CCBC Essex. (CCBC MD)
- The Catonsville High School boys basketball team won their first game of the season on Dec. 5. The team, led by new Catonsville coach Jason Harris, won 84 to 16 against Sparrows Point High School. Congratulations! (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
