  1. As cases of coronavirus rise, Baltimore County Public Schools told all students to "take their devices home" over the winter break. While the school system plans to maintain in-person learning five days a week, it wants to be prepared to address the "rapidly changing situation." As of today (Dec. 22), BCPS has also suspended nonathletic extracurricular activities through Jan. 7. School officials advised organizers to make these activities virtual. (Patch)
  2. A talented Catonsville teenager is appearing in "Swagger," a new Apple TV+ drama loosely based on the early life of NBA star Kevin Durant. Sixteen-year-old Elijah Jacob, a current junior at Boys Latin, portrays Earl, one of the kids on the basketball team, in three episodes of the show, which airs on Friday nights. The teen actor says excited about what's next: A pilot being considered by Disney+ and a growing career. (WBALTV 11)
