BCPS Hosts Back-to-School Virtual Summit Wednesday
The summit will feature a discussion among the BCPS superintendent and educators about virtual instruction and the return-to-learn plan.
BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — An online Back-to-School Summit will be hosted by Baltimore County Public Schools Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. to celebrate the start of the 2020-2021 school year. The online summit will feature a discussion among BCPS Superintendent Dr. Darryl L. Williams and BCPS educators about virtual instruction and the school system’s reopening plan. The community can watch the summit online.
Dr. Lisa Williams, executive director of the BCPS Department of Equity and Cultural Proficiency will moderate the virtual summit. Panelists include:
- Rochelle Archelus, Woodlawn Middle School, 2020 Middle School Principal of the Year
- Christina Byers, community superintendent, Central Zone
- Rebecca Feser, Middleborough Elementary School, 2020 Paraeducator of the Year
- Dr. Racquel Jones, community superintendent, West Zone
- Kelly O’Connell, Mars Estates Elementary School, 2020 Elementary School Principal of the Year
- Jessica Platt, 2019 Elementary School Counselor of the Year
- Brian Powell, Kenwood High School, 2020 High School Principal of the Year
- Dr. George Roberts, community superintendent, East Zone
- Robert Runk, Parkville Middle School, 2020 Teacher of the Year
- Dr. Darryl L. Williams, superintendent
