CATONSVILLE, MD (May 5, 2014) -- The Black Swan Yacht Club at Charlestown retirement community today began its 2014 racing season with a fleet consisting of 31-inch Victorian Model, radio-controlled sailboats.
Sailors held a series of races on the community's Lake Charles. Residents (l-r) Rune Engblom, Rod Waite and Don Metzzer are seen in the above photo racing their sailboats.
Guests were given the chance to try their hands at the controls at the conclusion of the races.
Future races will be held Wednesday mornings, at 10 a.m., in May, June, September, and October.
Fun and camaraderie is the main goal of the Black Swan Yacht Club, which has been racing for the past 25 years.
