Metaphor and artistic license aside, I have to ask, “WHEN??? Life was slow and mellow WHEN??? In SEPTEMBER?????” Dude. What a joke. I can’t remember ANY September that was slow and mellow. This year was no exception.

Only three weeks into the month, we have had the following goings on in our family:
1 volleyball tournament

1 daughter attending VirginFest
1 minimal mental freak-out that my daughter was attending VFest
2 doctor appointments
3 kids back in school
3 back-to-school Nights (1 washed out by a flood)
1 massive flood (see above)
1 weekend in D.C. for our sweet nephew’s wedding
Multiple baseball tryouts

(Okay, that last one didn’t really impact me much, but hey, it happened and I thought I’d throw it in for good measure.)
This list doesn’t include the regularly scheduled programming of weekly lessons and practices, or my valiant attempts at regular daily grooming. It’s not just me - everyone I know and know of is perversely busy. So, I say this not by way of fishing for compliments or support or kudos.
Not that it would kill you.
C’mon. Throw me a bone.
Sigh. Okay. Anyhow, I’ve been thinking about the blog and wanting to be even busier. Like ya do. So in a super-unique and innovative career move, I am loosening my grip on Patch’s apron strings, and launching my own blog! Seriously, do you know anyone else who has a blog??? It can’t be that many, right? On its own page, with its own domain name and colors I pick and everything!
Hopefully, after some technokinks are worked out, I will simply be able to link the new blog to Catonsville Patch, but until then, please fear not - I'll post the identical content in both places: Catonsville Patch and the new blog
So, while I call BS on the first lines of “Try to Remember,” I am actually hoping you’ll come along with me and do what the last lines of the song instruct – that is to “…follow, follow, follow!"
