Here are the top stories today in Catonsville:
- State health officials in Maryland reported to the federal government Dec. 29 that approximately 80 percent of inpatient beds and 71 percent of intensive care unit beds in hospitals across the state were occupied. Around 21 percent of inpatient beds and 30 percent of ICU beds statewide were filled by COVID-19 patients, they reported. (Catonsville Patch)
- Six of seven members of the Baltimore County Council are gearing up to run for reelection.
Republican David Marks is the latest councilman to say he will run again this coming year. The American Civil Liberties Union of Maryland and the Baltimore County Branch of the NAACP have filed suit to block the new council map. (WYPR)
