Catonsville Man Charged with Murder

Authorities say they have charged a Catonsville man with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found in a neighborhood park last week.

Terrence Omar Newman Jr., 23, of the 1000 block of Collwood Road in Catonsville, is charged with first-degree murder.

Police said Newman was an acquaintance of 21-year-old Carlita Coleman, whose body was found last week in Westview park off Gilston Park Road at Chesworth Road.

The cause of Coleman’s death remains under investigation, as the autopsy is not yet complete, Baltimore County police reported Tuesday.

Newman is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center, according to police.
