Charlestown's Dean Craword is MMA's Songwriter of the Year
Maryland Music Award Cites His Lifelong Devotion to His Craft

CATONSVILLE, MD -- Dean Crawford, Medical Practice Manager for Charlestown retirement community, is the 2015 recipient of Maryland Music Award for Songwriter of the Year.
Crawford (seen accepting his award) first started playing music and singing across the island of Jamaica when he was 12 years old. He eventually attended UMBC while always writing songs and performing them.
He and his six-piece band opened for George Jones, Patty Loveless, Neal McCoy, Marty Stuart, and Montgomery Gentry. Crawford has written more than 300 songs.
