Charlestown retirement Community’s Turkey Trot this week resulted in a total of $1,200 being raised for the Southwest Emergency Services and the Marian House. Residents and staff braved cold temperature to walk with the Turkey along Charlestown’s 1.3-mile loop road.
Congratulations to resident Carolyn Denton for guessing the identity of the Turkey (Executive Director Clara Parker stumped everyone in the Turkey costume).
Four gobblers (Helena Duncan, Continuing Care Program Assistant; resident Dingo the Clown; Michael Willis, Assistant Administrator of Continuing Care; and resident Lottie Wolinski) participated in the Gobble-Off Contest, with Lottie Wolinski selected by the audience as the Best Gobbler.

Charlestown’s resident band comprised of Ed Collins, Kass Collins and Betty Lou Burns provided music for a post-Turkey Trot reception celebration in which the Turkey danced with residents.
