Crash On I-695 Near Wilkens Avenue Prompted Temporary Closure

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — A crash on Interstate 695 near Wilkens Avenue is snarling traffic during the afternoon rush hour on Wednesday. The crash happened after 4 p.m. on the inner loop, transportation officials said.

Three vehicles were involved, according to authorities.

Around 4:15 p.m., the Maryland State Highway Administration reported that all lanes were closed on the inner loop.

One vehicle had overturned, according to WJZ, which reported it had been moved to the shoulder after 4:30 p.m.

As of 4:45 p.m., officials said all lanes had reopened, and the right shoulder was closed.

There were major delays in the area of I-695 at Wilkens Avenue for those headed toward Towson.
