Deliveryman Killed In Catonsville: Police

Police ask the community for tips after a man was gunned down while he was working in Catonsville.

CATONSVILLE, MD — A deliveryman was shot and killed in what authorities say was an intended robbery in Catonsville. Police asked for information from anyone who may have been in the area and seen or heard anything unusual.

Idrissa Derme, 46, of the 1900 block of Mosher Street, was delivering food from a local carryout restaurant when he was shot at least once, according to police.

The shooting took place on Vanderwood Road. Police said that around 8 p.m., the 911 calls began coming in that there was an unconscious man lying in the street.

Derme was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to officials.

Investigators said that robbery was believed to have been the motive in the shooting.

Derme was working for a food delivery app, according to WBAL, which reported he had left his job at Pizza Boli's two weeks ago to begin employment with the app-based delivery service.
