They voted for him after he quoted Adolf Hitler verbatim in speeches and after he told his former chief of staff that Hitler did some good things.
They voted for him after he was convicted of sexually assauting a woman inside a New York City department store.
And they probably would, as he once said, vote for him if he were to shoot and kill someone on Fifth Avenue in New York City.
God help us if Trump's values and the values of the people who voted for him -- and who still support him -- represent the promise of America.
